Wickedywitch 20th March 2013 Ostara Blessings

Ostara, or the Spring Equinox, is an enchanted borderland time outside of time where a magickal seam joins dark and light. From this moment on, the Sun God begins his seminal journey across the sky. His light and warmth overtake the darkness of Winter until his power peaks at Summer Solstice in June.

Ostara is a time of new fire. The light and dark are in perfect balance, but the light is growing and the Sun is about to burst forth with new energy. It is a season of fertility and growth.

Eostre or Ostara is the Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring to whom offerings of cakes and coloured eggs were made at the Vernal Equinox. Rabbits were sacred to her, especially white rabbits, and she was believed to take the form of a rabbit.

Bright Blessings to you on this our Spring Equinox, tonight witches will be performing rituals of varying kinds.  Tonight my partner and I will be in our garden as I have had an operation on my knee and it has knocked me for six, the anaesthetic has left me feeling very lethargic and tired.  The knee itself is throbbing but at least I know it will get better, ready for me to go to my camps and music festivals.

Tonight between 9pm and midnight we will be also sending healing to our dear friend David Ross who has cancer, we have all been giving him healing for the last few months and he has responded well. On the 21st March he goes for the operation to remove the tumour. We have asked once again to do a mass healing to take him through the operation and the recovery afterwards.

What we would like you to do in your homes, or gardens or in a group is to light a candle with David Ross etched into the wax, and as the candle burns down concentrate on the tumour being removed and as the candle burns away place a white healing energy around him to give him the strength to recover. The power of a collective healing is strong and powerful.

Love and light to you all
