Wickedywitch Poetry – The Bonfire

The crackle of the fire greeted the Bonfire group

As they wound their way down on the back of the tractor

The fire glowed with sparks of oranges and yellow

Adding to the anticipation of what was to come.

Disembarking with shrieks of laughter

As the fire crackled as wood burnt and spat

Chatting in groups of friends and acquaintances

The warmth of the fire making us warm all through.

The fireworks spun up into the black night sky

Spreading an array of beautiful colours from up high

The audience gasped with cries of delight

as one by one the fireworks spread out their beautiful glory.

Eating, drinking and chatting by the fire

The bonfire group at one with each other

As they enjoyed the evening of companionship

The fire, the fireworks and friendship in the darkness by the fire.
